Taiping Houkui
Taiping Houkui belongs to the first-class of dried green tea. It is produced in high mountain tea plantations at the areas of Houkeng Huangshan District of Huangshan City (used to be called Taiping County in ancient times). The tealeaves have straight shapes with two fusiform ends, and the color is olive green. When soaked into hot water, the tealeaves open out like flowers, the tea water is clear and green, the smell is fragrant, and the taste is sweet. It gets a reputation that “one will be drunk by the fragrant smell of Houkui even one hundred miles away”.
Lu’an Guanpian, also known as Lu’an Melon Seed, is mainly produced in Jinzhai, Huoshan and other counties of Lu'an . The tealeaves are flat and melon-seed-like, the size is symmetrical, the color is pigment green and the favor is fragrant. Each leaf’s central vein is removed and the leaves are pan fried and shaped to stop oxidizing enzymes and dry the tea. Lu’an Guapian excels in the elaborate manufacturing techniques: all the procedures of picking, frying and drying are handcrafted. In addition to quenching thirst, the tea can be used as medicine. It has the functions of saving worry, refreshing, and removing tiredness.
Huangshan Maofeng is included in the category of green teas and produced in Huangshan City. During the reign of the Emperor Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1875— 1908), the tea began to be produced. Huangshan Maofeng is sub-classified into superfine tea and ordinary tea. The superfine tea is produced in the deep mountains 700 meters above the sea level. The tea has tongue-like shapes, slim and slightly crimps and white tines; it is peak green and ivory, embellishing and smooth. When soaked into hot water, the misty, clear and bright tea has a fragrant smell and a sweet taste.
Keemun Black Tea
Keemun Black Tea is produced in Qimen County of Anhui Province. It has slim shapes, embellishing black color and fragrant favor. When soaked into hot water, the color of the tea becomes flush and transparent and the taste is so refreshing. Due to its nice color, favor fragrance and good taste, it has enjoyed a long time prestige both at home and abroad, and was once awarded the first-class gold medal at Panama World Expo and national gold medal in China.
