As one of the top 10 Places for River Rafting in China, Maoyan River Rafting is a wonderful water sport which was first opened to tourists in 1980s., Maoyan River , 20 km west of Zhangjiajie City. is a tributary of Li River. It snakes in the 50 km long gorge, forming a scenic area famous for clear water, virid peaks, perilous cliffs, grotesque rocks, fabulous caves, hot springs, pouring waterfalls and lush trees. It not only provides an excellent waterway for whitewater rafting in rubber rafts, but also produces a string of unusual sights.

The Maoyan River Drift lies in the Maoyan River scenic area, a total length of 28 km, a fall of 66 meters and 55 river beaches, and is the most exciting project among all the "Mountain, Water, Caves " tourism programs of Zhangjiajie.

The water scenery in Maoyan River is of the most primitive and uncontrolled kind. Sometimes it flows placidly within a wild area; at other time, it advances wave upon wave, surging with great force. She is so vivacious, so natural, that we cant resist her attraction and the lure to possess her. Once you dance with the wave of the Maoyan River, you will be unable to forget this experience for the rest of you life. Not in the Three Gorges, however, the Maoyan River surpasses the beauty of the Three Gorges.

How to travel:  One day tour of Jiutian Cave exploring & Maoyan River Rafting. The tinerary is as below:

In the morning, our tour guide will meet you at hotel in Zhangjiajie City. Transfer (1 hours Drive) to Jiutian Cave ,it is the first cave in Asia: its name is obtained for its nine skylights connected with the ground. The cave is divided into upper, middle and lower layers with a total area of 2.5 million square meters, in which there are layers of stalagmites, stale and stalactites in beautiful shapes and peculiar structures everywhere. It is an uncommon underground gem. In 1987, it was identified as “The first cave in Asia” after three on-site investigations of over twenty experts in solution caves from seventeen countries. In 1995, it was designed as an “Exploration Base of International Limestone Cave Association” and received as its member.
