Peking Opera - Liyuan Theatre
You haven't experienced the Chinese culture if you haven't been to a Chinese Opera. Be sure to visit an opera with English translations! Chinese opera is a combination of acrobatics and singing. The singing is quite different (and sometimes even annoying) from the way the foreigners used to, so be prepared for a cultural shock! The Monkey King is usually one many people's favorite. Colorful makeup with different bright costume and exaggerated eye movement and body gestures. Dancing and acrobatic jumps with fans or swords. There is also individual sopra, tenor or base singing by individual performers which get hearty response from the audience. There are several places to enjoy Beijing Opera. Liyuan Theatre is one of the most visited theatres. It is locates on the first floor in Qianmen Hotel.

Acrobatics Show - Chaoyang Theatre
While in Beijing you should catch an acrobat show. It's inexpensive. Its quite amazing to see what these artists can do with their bodies. Beautiful and impressive performances will keep you enjpying any part of the show. Definitely worth a visit! Tickets begin on RMB100 (EUR10) and show begins on 19:15. There are several arobatics shows in Beijing. Chaoyang Theatre is one of the best. The theatre is located in the Chaoyang District and is a Chinese acrobatics show involving bicycles, tight rope walking, and spinning plates that is mainly for tourists. It is a very entertaining show, highly recommended.

Chinese Kungfu Show-Red Theater
Chinese Kung Fu (also known as Gungfu, or Martial art) is considered as the National Treasure of China, and is so prestigious on the global scene. Every morning, street corners and public parks in Beijing China are thronged with people practicing Chinese martial arts. After the renovation, the stage facilities has been dramatically improved and now the theater specializes in traditional Chinese performances, such as "The Legend of Kung Fu".

Hard Rock Cafe: Beijing's Pub Culture
The Hardrock café Beijing is an inhouse complex nestled in the Landmark Tower, close to Lufthansa center. It is unlike other Hardrock cafés around the world. It is worth visiting and feeling the unique ambiance. The restaurant entrance features a bright red 1960 vintage Cadillac, a huge neon-lit guitar, and marble piano keys that pave the way to the Cafe. The interior has an 8-metre-wide dome, painted with images of Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and popular tourist spots such as Tiananmen Square and Temple of Heaven. The guitar-shaped bar, measuring 11.5 metres, is truly a masterpiece. The centre stage is set against a huge stained glass wall measuring 4.6 metres by 4.8 metres.

Houhai Lake Area: bars and night boating
Houhai is very fashionable and trendy in contrast to the seedy Sanlitun Bar district. There are many different bars and restaurants that line the shores of the Houhai Lake. The place is interestingly decorated and there is good music with a small dance floor. The area is a good place for people watching and taking a stroll. When we generally talk about Houhai, we often mean Shichahai which is composed of three lakes - Qianhai Lake, Houhai Lake and Xihai Lake. All the three lakes are connected and lined with lots of bars and restaurants. A boat house with boats you can rent to paddle along the lakes.

Karaoke, Beijing 
Like other countries in East Asia, many young people in China love karaoke. There are many are Karaokes in Beijing. You can read the English part of the sign that say 'KTV', that's the place. Inside you and you friends will have a private room. You order drinks and usually food. Yell your lungs out. It's a good time for most.

Sanlitun Bar Street
San Li Tun bar street is must go for night life. CD cafe has nice Jazz band in town. There is alot of night club, disco here. It's one of the bigger and popular bars on bar street. Locals and foreigners mingle freely. If you prefer being close to the stage then you'd better go there before 8 or 9 pm. Very often if the band is singing a well known song, then everyone will follow along. The song list varies from soft rock to ballads to rock to folk. You are ready to be served since the wait staff is always less than 5 feet away. so you don't have to worry about running out something to drink. In many of the bars, some ladies will sell cigars and cigarettes to you, and even flowers! So Salitun Bar Street is just a great place to just go and talk with you friends while listening to some great music.

Tiananmen by Night
After visiting the major touristic sites during the day, it is a good idea to reserve some time for Tiananmen visit at night. The lights of the government buildings as well as of the Mao Mausoleum are kind of exciting! So after visiting Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City during the day, you should do a nightime visit as well. A totally different feeling!

Wangfujing Street Night Markets
This local night snack street is located near Wangfujing Street, hence the name of Wangfujing Street Night Markets. Actually it is located on the Donghuamen Street. So this snack food street is also called the Donganmen Night Market. Here you can buy Mongolian barbecued lamb, sweet rolls, drinks, and much more. Even if you don't eatanything, it's interesting to just be here and watch. Add: Take Line 1 of the Beijing subway and get off at the Wangfujing station.
