The layout of No.1 Village could be summarized as “one axis and three
sections”.
Three sections refer to
Zhou Libo’s Former Residence, Former Site of Qingxi Village, and Old House Area.
Zhou Libo’s Former Residence was built in the 53rd year of Qianlong Emperor in
Qing Dynasty. It was listed as a provincial key unit of cultural relics protection. Besides the Former Residence is there
Libo Snack Street , where plenty of delicious snacks and dishes with local flavor are served. Around the Former Residence is a pear garden built with the donation from Zhou’s remuneration of novel-writing.
Former Site of Qingxi Village is between
Qingxi West Road and the
North Road . This section mainly includes the former site of
Qingxi Village , the folk art square and a 100-mu lotus pond with clusters of green leaves and red blossoms.
Old House Area is on the east of Qingxi North Road . The main scenery is the old houses which reflect the local villager’s habitation and life style. Besides, there is also a farming experience zone where tourists can plant fruits and vegetables by themselves, and a temple of the local god of land where the farmers pray for harvest.
Along the Qingxi South and North Road are gurgling streams. And eight group sculptures have been set up on both sides of Qingxi South and West road according to the plot of Mr. Zhou Libo’s novel. On the edge of Qingxi South Road is a 1000-meter-long corridor with green fruits and vegetables and a planting area for high quality rice.
