Wuhang Mountain 五行山
Wuhang Mountain, also Wuxing Mountain, is located in Bamaoxi Village, Wudaoshui Town, Sangzhi County,
Zhangjiajie City. With 1199 meters above sea level,
Wuhang Mountain stands in the north source of Lishui River. Pointing straight to the blue sky, the Five giant peaks look like five fingers.
Wuhang Mountain is surrounded by cliffs, and there is a Taoist temple on the top of the mountain -
Huixiangu Temple. According to historical records, the ancient temple of
Huixian standing on the top of the mountain was originally built in the late Ming Dynasty (1358-1644), and it was entirely made of stone. Huixian Temple is a miracle in the history of ancient architecture in Sangzhi County.
Wuhang Mountain is surrounded by high mountains and dense forests, interlaced ravines and complex terrain. In the 1930s, Marshal He Long led the poor people to launch the Sangzhi Uprising, and launched a guerrilla war with the enemy for eight years, creating the Second Front Army of the Red Army of Chinese Workers and Peasants.
At present, Wuhang Mountain has been developed and constructed, and tourists can walk up a slate-paved tour road, but the road is rough, and tourists need to walk for 3 hours to reach the top of the mountain.
Nearby Wuhang Mountain, there are streams, waterfalls, karst caves, and some primitive
Tujia and
Bai villages. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts to explore and hunt.
