Guigu Kungfu, also knwon as " Ying Qi Gong", was originally invested by Guiguzi who was one of the famous politician of Chu State in States War period (476BC-221BC).

According to ancient stories, Guiguzi lived in Ghost Canyon at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie City. He specialized in uniting and breaking up strategies. Uniting strategy means six states united and fight against Qin State together in that period. Breaking up Strategy means six states deal with Qin State respective.

He researched the book of Yin-Yang in Guigu Cave of  Tianmen Mountainand created new Kong Fu different from other factions in China. Local people named this “Guigu Kong Fu”. In the past, Guigu Kong Fu had been used in practice. In recent years, Guigu Kong Fu appeared as folk entertainments. The men can perform prostrating on prong, laying on nails bed, beating ears, breaking bricks by head and so on.

Where to see Guigu Kungfu?

Guigu Gongfu is put on at the Show of Charmful Xiangxi  in Wulingyuan of Zhangjiajie City. At the show of ‘Charming Xiangxi', the actors all come from the local Tujia and Miao families, and their fair-sounding singing and multicolored folk finery are the highlights of the party. Performances of Xiangxi Magic and Xiangxi Ganshi (chucking corpse) add to the mysterious and thrilling luster of the show. The performance lasts for three hours, and it provides a window into the soul of the culture of Zhangjiajie.

The teacher of Kissinger, Secretary of State in USA, commended that Guiguzi must become historical hero in that time because of his wisdom, prediction of historical development and mastering of diplomatic skills (Kissinger's autobiography). “Guiguzi” is his famous work. People regarded him the God.
