Hsitzuwan Scenic Area

Hsitzuwan Scenic Area, also called Xiziwan Scenic Area, is one of Kaohsiung’s eight great scenic spots, which boasts the only seaside university and unparalleled sunset views. Located on the west side of Kaohsiung, facing Cijin Island to across the Taiwan Strait, and leaning on Shoushan in the north,  the Hsitzuwan Scenic Area  is a sea bathing beach composed of flat beaches and shallow sands. It is a good place to play in the water in summer.

Hsitzuwan Scenic Area is a beautiful bay with golden beach, blue sea, and natural coral reefs. Numerous people travel all the way to Hsitzuwan to appreciate the charming sunset. Hsitzuwan Bathing Beach, National Sun Yat-sen University, and Former British Consulate at Takao are all in the scenic area.

The popular attractions include Xiziwan Bathing Beach, Sun Yat-sen University, British Consulate of Tagou, Seaside Park and Chiang Kai-shek  Memorial Hall from north to south, which can be reached by bike.   Sun Yat-sen University is a seaside university, which adds a touch of cultural flavor to Xiziwan.  There are often "crazy dog waves" near the sea from the breakwater of West Bay. Don't go to the front of the breakwater to play; if you want to take pictures of the beautiful sunset, remember to get a good spot early.
