Laji Mountain

Laji Mountain, located in Guide County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is called "Gongmaola" in Tibetan, which means the place where Gala chicken (stone chicken) inhabits.

The highest peak of the mountain is 4524 meters above sea level. Laji Mountain is not only the dividing line between Huangzhong County and Guide County, but also between the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

The geographical position of Laji Mountain Pass is very important. The Ningguo Highway crosses here. There is also a steep north slope of Laji Mountain on the south side of the pass. Except for summer, hillsides are often covered with snow. The southern slope is gentle, with grassland growing, and it is a mountain pasture. The famous Cordyceps sinensis is produced in the mountains.

Due to the high altitude and diverse climate types on the mountain, you can experience the climatic landscapes such as rain, snow, fog, lan, cloudy, and sunny many times a day while driving to the pass. Here, the slope of Hongshanzui grassland is gentle and the grass is abundant. Whenever summer comes, green grass and flowers bloom on the hillside.
