Guangwu Great Wall
Guangwu Great Wall is located in Guangwu Village, Shanyin County, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province. According to records, it was built in 1374 during the
Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It is an inner Great Wall with a total length of about 20 km (from Xinguangwu to Xi'anyu). The earth wall still has 13 km in Guangwu, and the others part is a remnant.
This section of the Great Wall is 10,000 meters long, 6-8 meters high, 5 meters wide at the bottom and 3 meters wide at the top.Slowly walking along the ridge with the twists and turns of the mountain, it looks like a giant dragon that disappears from the beginning and the end.
With its masonry structures, this section of the Great Wall has 16 beacon towers, 5 of which are still intact. The Geat Wall faces Yanmen Pass in the east, Ningwu Old City in the west, Wutai Mountain to the south, and Yungang Grottoes to the north. It is not only a masterpiece of the Great Wall of
Ming Dynasty in Shanxi Province but alos a treasure of the Great Wall in
China.
Being unrepaired, the Guangwu Great Wall belongs to the wild Great Wall. Depart from Yingxian after visiting the Wooden Pagoda, it is 68 km highway if you want to visit the Guangwu Great Wall.
