Tongdao Dong Brocade
Dong Brocade，a handicraft made by the Dong Ethnic people, is one of the famous ethnic minority brocades in China. Tongdao County is home of Dong Ethnic nationality. With the Tongdao Dong Autonomous County in Hunan Province as the center, it is mainly producted in the Dong ethnic area on the border of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi. With a history of more than 2,000 years, Dong Brocade is famous for its rich ethnic style and unique craftsmanship. Mingshan Stone Carving The Mingshan stone carving is produced in Mingshan Hill, Zhiijiang Dong Autonomous County of Huaihua City. The stones here are uniform in texture, colorful in color, clear in science and technology, moderate in hardness and softness, and good in plate forming properties, so they are the ideal stone carving technology and building decoration materials of all ages. As early as the Southern Song Dynasty, the people of Zhijiangjiang began to use Mingshan stones to make various crafts, and they were once designated as tribute stones and sent to the court. Jietan Tea is produced in Fuling Jietan Mountainous Area on the banks of the Yuanshui River in west Hunan Province. It is one of the famous specialty products in Yuanling County, Huaihua City. Jietan Tea is green tea which is unique in shape, color, fragrance and taste. The most amazing thing is that the whole house is full of fragrance smell of the tea if one person drinks Jietan tea . This is reason that Jietan tea is unique. In 1972, Tanaka Kakae, former Prime Minister of Japan once visited China. While drinking Jietan Tea, he praised the tea, and said to the former Prime Minister of China, Zhou Enlai," Jietan Tea is the China-Japan Friendship Tea" .
Zhijiang Mint CrispZhijiang Mint Crisp, or Lotus Heart Candy, is one of the most famous local special products of Zhijiang County in Huaihua City. Zhijiang Mint Crisp is made through a unique prosess, which the main raw materials sugar, vegetable oil, cream and mint. Each of the mint crisp has 16 main holes and 9 auxiliary holes to be connected each other. Its shape is like the heart of lotus root, so the mint crisp is also called Lotus Heart Candy.
