Chongde Hall
Chongde Hall is a typical southern courtyard house with a wooden structure. Located at Shijia Lane inside Fenghuang Ancient Town, it is one of the top nine attractions in the ancient town.
Chongde Hall was built by Mr. Pei Shoulu in 1884 during the Qing Dynasty(1645-1911). Mr. Pei Shoulu was a native of Fengcheng County in Jiangxi Province. In the Qing Dynasty imperial examination system, he passed the final level of the central government's court examination, so he got the " Jinshi"(进士). And later, he made a fortune in business. At the age of 40, he built Chongde Hall. The two Chinese words of "崇德" means that people should be moral no matter what to do . And then, Mr. Pei Shoulu became the richest man in Fenghuang Town.
With a total area of 622 square meters, Chongde Hall is the building with two floors, which is divided reasonably into the public areas of living and hospitality, private areas of the master bedroom.
