Wuhan is reported that 72 hours visa-free transit policy has been implemented at Tianhe International Airport since May 1, 2015. Passport holders from 51 countries, such as USA, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, can enjoy up to 72 hours free transit when they take an international transfer at the airport.
Wuhan Tianhe International Airport was started using on April 15, 1995. It is the first 4F-class airport in the central region of China; also, it is comprehensive airline hub specified by the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China, is the largest and most advanced airport and aircraft maintenance base in Central China, is the only independent international terminal of the airport and the only ports of entry visas on arrival in Central China.
By the end of March, 2013, the airport has operated passenger flights to 55 domestic cities and 23 international cities/regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xian,Zhangjiajie, Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Bangkok, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Singapore, etc.
A 20-kilometer speedway drive from the Tianhe International Airport (WUH) to the city center takes only twenty minutes. Airport shuttle buses leave for the city following flight arrivals. From the airport to Hankou, the bus will charge 17 yuan per person, and 32 per person for Wuchang; a taxi ride to the city area is about 80-120 yuan.
