Guizhou Transportation


Guizhou is an important channel to the sea and a land transportation hub in Southwest China. 2023 kilometers in expressway construction and 2066 kilometers for railway construction made the total mileage is up to 14 thousand kilometers. It has five railway lines, connecting Sichuan-Guizhou, Hunan-Guizhou, Guiyang-Kunming, Guizhou-Guangxi, and Nanning-Kunming. There are regional airports in Guiyang, Tongren, Xingyi, Anshun, Liping and Libo. The three branch-line airports in Zunyi, Bijie and Liupanshui are stepping up construction.

Guizhou is home to 11 airports. Namely, Guiyang Longdongbu International Airport, Zunyi Xinzhou Airport, Tongren Fenghuang Airport, Xingyi Wanfenlin International Airport, Li Ping Airport, Libo Airport, Anshun Huangguoshu Airport, Bijie Feixiong Airport, Kali Huangping Airport, Liu Panshui Yuezhao Airport, and Zunyi Maotai Airport.


By Train
Guiyang, the provincial capital of Guizhou province, is the hub of China's southwestern railway network. With Guiyang as the center, the four railway lines, namely the Guizhou-Guangxi Railway, Sichuan-Guizhou Railway, Guizhou-Kunming Railway and Hunan-Guizhou Railway, all run through Guizhou, with the Nanning-Kunming Railway also being open to traffic.

In addition, several high-speed rail lines pass through Guizhou. The Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway have been put into operation. On Dec 23, 2017, the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway started construction and is expected to be opened to traffic on Dec 20, 2023.


By Long-distance Bus
Guizhou is a transportation hub in the southwestern region of China. It is an important transit place between northwestern and southwestern provinces and coastal areas. Guizhou has formed a road network centering on Guiyang and radiating to almost all cities and counties in Guizhou. A number of expressways pass through Guizhou, including 8 national expressways, namely, Lanhai (Lanzhou-Haikou) line, Hangrui (Hangzhou-Ruili) line, Xiarong (Xiamen-Chengdu) line, Rongzun (Chengdu-Zunyi) line, Hukun (Shanghai-Kunming) line, Shankun (Shantou-Kunming) line, Duxiang (Duyun-Shangrila) line, and Guiyang Beltway, and some provincial expressways.

The length of expressways in Guizhou exceeds 5,100 kilometers, with a density of 2.9 kilometers per 100 square kilometers. There are 15 expressway exits out of the province. During the 13th Five-Year Plan, Guizhou is expected to invest 500 billion yuan in road construction. By 2020, the total length of the province's roads will reach 200,000 km.


Several traffic circles will be realized to connect Guizhou to other cities. A two-hour traffic circle will connect it to Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming and Changsha. A four-hour traffic circle will connect it to Wuhan, Guangzhou and Xi'an. A six-hour traffic circle will connect it to Shanghai, Nanning and Zhengzhou. An eight-hour traffic circle will connect it to Beijing and Lanzhou. By 2015, Guizhou’s traffic network will expand to the south, east, west and north.
