Quanzhou Confucian Temple
Quanzhou Confucian Temple is a national key cultural relics protection unit and one of the main cultural monuments in Quanzhou City of Fujian Province. As one of the 24 sites of
Quanzhou City's Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China , it was inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage List on 25 July,2021 during the ongoing 44th Session of the World Heritage Committee, which is hosted in Fuzhou, Fujian province.
Quanzhou Confucian Temple, originally built as a state school in 982 during the Tangd Dynasty, was moved here in 1109 in the Northern Song Dynasty, and it was also rebuilt in 1137 in the Southern Song Dynasty. Its large scale of construction is a Confucian temple complex integrating the
architectural forms of the Song, Yuan, Ming and
Qing dynasties; it has a long history, complete regulation, grand momentum and rich cultural connotation.
