Jiuri Mountain is located in Fengzhou Town, Nan'an, only 7 kilometers east of downtown Quanzhou. Jiuri Mountain is full of trees, beautiful scenery and charming scenery. With an altitude of more than 100 meters, Jiuri Mountain has three peaks: East Peak, West Peak and North Peak, which are shaped like tongs. Since the Tang Dynasty, literati and inkmen have visited or lived in seclusion successively.
Jiuri Temple is the earliest Buddhist temple in Quanzhou built in the 9th year of Taikang in the Western
Jin Dynasty (228 AD) at the foot of the mountain. The ancient Indian monk of the Southern Dynasties, Kunnaruo Tuo, used to translate the Diamond Sutra here and learn Chinese. There are monuments of turning stones on the mountain.
Jiuri Mountain Wind-Praying Inscriptions: Carved in the cliff, these inscriptions record the ritual ceremonies held by state commissioners, local officials and members of the imperial clan responsible for the management of overseas trade in the
Song Dynasty (960-1279). Their purpose was to pray for favorable winds to aid voyages.

Yuan China", Jiuri Mountain was inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage List on 25 July,2021 during the ongoing 44th Session of the World Heritage Committee, which is hosted in Fuzhou, Fujian province.
