Mao Zedong Memorial Park
Mao Zedong Memorial Park is located on the hills about 500 meters west of the former residence of Mao Zedong in Shaoshan. With over one hundred buildings of various sizes, it is a landscape garden integrating various functions such as commemoration, education, and sightseeing.
The special feature of Mao Zedong Memorial Park is that it commemorates the meaning of reproduction in real objects, so that people can experience the history of Chinese revolution while traveling in the park. Mao Zedong Memorial Park has two main entrances, namely the South Gate and the East Gate. The South Gate naturally extends from the passage in front of Mao Zedong's former residence. It crosses the Guan Gong Bridge and the Shao River, and then turns around the Shaoshan Pass. There is an antique archway between the bridge and the pass to guide visitors go on walking to the north, which is very consistent with Mao Zedong's journey from south to north,
Mao Zedong Memorial Park is selected the human and natural landscapes of important periods in Mao Zedong's revolutionary career to build them on a reduced scale. And it includes 5 scenic spois such as Qingtang Village, Nanhu Boating, the Cable Bridge in Autumn, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and Comprehensive Recreation Area.
There are 15 miniature attractions in the scenic area, including the former site of the Qingshuitang Xiang District Committee, the former residence of the Wuchang Agricultural Movement Center, the former site of the Zunyi Conference, and the former residence of Maoping. It reflects Mao Zedong's glorious revolutionary process from multiple aspects.
