Shibadong Miao Village is located in the remote mountainous of Huayuan County in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture of Hunan Province. It was used to be a poverty-stricken village with little arable land and an inadequate transportation system.
It is here where he first put forward the concept of "targeted poverty alleviation." It has now become an illustration of China's historic campaign to eradicate poverty by 2020.

Shibadong Village is 34 kilometers away from downtown Huayuan County, 38 kilometers away from Jishou City, 8 kilometers away from Aizhai Bridge, and 5 kilometers from Exit. of Zhangjiajie-Fenghuang Expressway. The village has a total of 225 households with 939 people. It belongs to the pure Miao community. With a strong Miao ethnic style. Shibadong Village has the original ecological culture of the Miao nationality preserved well . On December 31, 2019, Shibadong Village was selected as one of the governance demonstration villages of China.
Viisting the village, you can learn about the rich Miao cultural heritage, unique Miao diet, strong Miao customs. During every spring festival, there are traditional customs such as lion robbing, solitaire, and seedling drums. In every autumn festival, there are some activities organized here ,such as watermelon festival, dragon dance, knife ladder, vertebrate cattle, singing Miao folk songs.
The village has cultural tourism products such as Miao embroidery, batik, flower belt, ancient flower silk weaving. There are some local Miao food, such as bacon, sour fish, sour meat, wild vegetables.
Nearby Aizhai Grand Canyon, the Shibadong Village has beautiful natural landscape, such as Eighteen Cave, Huangma Cliff, Beier Mountain, and Qingtian Pillar.
