Longwu Village is located in Qingshanqiao Town which is at the junction of Shuangfeng County and
Xiangtan County. Situated at the foot of Changshan Mountain, the average elevation is over 500 meters. And the area of the village has more than 70% of the mountains covered bamboo.
Both Lei Longhui and Lei Longshu brothers are over 60 years old. They are famous hand-made papermakers in Longwu Village. The brothers' papermaking workshops are located at the foot of Changshan Hill and Huangniufeng Hill at an altitude of more than 700 meters. The raw materials used in papermaking are the bamboo in the mountains.
The papers they make are called local papers. The paper is mainly made of tender bamboo in one year and old bamboo which is more than one year old. The paper made from tender bamboo has better color and storage resistance than paper made from old bamboo. In the past, it was mainly used for sanitation, writing brush, funeral, and sacrifice.
