Jiugong Mountain


Standing in the middle of the Mufu Mountains, Jiugong Mountain is located in Tongshan County, Xianning City of HHubei Province. With a planned area of 196 square kilometers, Jiugong Mountain is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. It is a famous tourist, holiday, leisure and summer resort in China, bust also a famous Taoist site during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127).

The forest coverage rate of Jiugong Mountain is 96.6%. The highest peak is called "Laoyajian", with an altitude of 1657 meters, which is one of the highest peaks in central and southern my country. Jiugong Mountain is one of the famous mountains of the Five Avenues in China. It is as famous as Lao Mountain in Qingdao, Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi, Qingcheng Mountain in Sichuan, and Wudang Mountain in Hubei. Origin of the name. According to the records of "Tai Ping Yu Lan", during the Southern and Northern Dynasties in 569 AD, Chen Bogong, the second son of Emperor Chen Wendi of Southern Chen Dynasty, led nine brothers. In order to avoid war, nine palaces were built on the mountain, namely Hunyuan Palace and Eight Diagrams. Palace, Qinglong Palace, White Tiger Palace, Douma Palace, Wuwei Palace, Sanqing Palace, Qizhen Palace, Yihua Palace, later generations called Jiugongshan. There is another saying that the number of Jiugongshan's four peaks and five ridges combined with Jiugong.

In Jiugong Mountain, the microclimate of the scenic area is comfortable. It has an annual average temperature of 22ºC with the highest temperature less than 30ºC. It is a popular summer resort in Hunei, combining both elegant and imposing mountain landscapes. The scenic area consists of five major tourist zones, and the largest alpine lake, Yunzhong Lake (Lake in Clouds) also features in the mountain resort.
