Danjiangkou Dam is located  at the 800 meters downstream of the confluence of the Han River and Dan River, in the urban area of Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province. Danjiangkou Dam has a total length of 2.5 kilometers, the maximum height of the project is 97 meters, the dam crest elevation is 162 meters, 6 generator sets are installed, the installed capacity is 900,000 kilowatts, and the annual average power generation is 4 billion kWh. Danjiangkou Dam is a large-scale hub designed by China after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, self-designed, self-powered, irrigation, shipping, and aquaculture comprehensive utilization.
