Luan Guapian Tea
Luan Guapian Tea, also known as Luan Melon Seed Tea or Luan Leaf , is a kind of Green tea grown in Luan City of Anhui Province. As a kind of green tea, it is listed on all Chinese famous tea’s lists.
The main producing area of Lu'an Guapian Tea is the northern foot of Dabie Mountain in Lu'an City, Anhui Province, especially in the adjacent mountainous areas and low mountain hills of Jinzhai and Huoshan counties. Lu'an melon tea trees grow in the hills at an altitude of 100-400 meters. With an average annual temperature of 18 ℃, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunlight, deep soil layers, high fertility, good permeability, it is very suitable for tea growth.In the Ming Dynasty, Lu'an Melon Seed Tea was widely used to prevent sunstroke. And it was a tribute tea for the highest power class.

The shapes of the tea’s leaves are flat and oval which looks like a melon seed, hence the name. Most green teas are produced from the new buds in central vein, but Lu'an Melon Seed tea uses the second leaf on the branch. The central veins on these leaves are removed and are pan fired and shaped so that the tea will not been oxidized.
In 2008, Luan Guapian Tea was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Directory. On February 26, 2020, Lu'an Guapian Tea was identified as one of the agricultural products with Chinese characteristics.

How to brew?
