Zechawa Valley in Jiuzhaigou
Zechawa Valley, 18 kilometers in length, is the longest and highest route in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. Zechawa Valley is the south-eastern branch of Jiuzhaigou Valley.
What to see?
Although it has approximately the same length as Rize Valley (18 km), but there are less tourist sites at this valley. Going downhill from its highest point, it features the following two tourist sites:
Five Color Pool, also called Jade Pool, is fed by underground streams from Long Lake. Just as its name implies, the colorful water in this lake makes it as a charming part during the summer time. Despite its very modest dimensions and depth, it has a richly colored underwater landscape with some of the brightest and clearest waters in the area.
Magic Mirror Cliff, 400 meters in height, lies at the mouth of Zharu and stands facing the lakes. The surface of the cliff is rather even and it looks like a great mirror when seen from distance. It is said that the precious mirror was founded by the master of the mountain to suppress a devil who killed people cruelly. Therefore the cliff is also named Devil Cliff.
Long Lake, also known as Changhai Lake is at the head of the Zechawa valley. Long Lake is the highest, largest and deepest lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley. The S-shaped Long Lake covers an area of 930,000 sq meters, making it the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. It is 4390 meters long, and has an average width of 200 meters and reaches a depth of 80 meters. Tibetans prefer to call this lake as "The Lake that never dries out".
The lake is vast without a single water exit on the earth surface, and does not rise sharply during storm seasons in summer or autumn, nor dry up during spring or winter. It is said to have monsters appear now and then, adding to the mystery of the lake.

easonal Lakes, There are Lower Seasonal Lake and Upper Seasonal Lake in Zechawa Valley. Lower Seasonal Lake is near Zechawa Village and has a grove of birches at the lakeside. Strawberries and other wild fruits can be found in the grove. The upper Seasonal Lake is next to Five-Colored Pond surrounded by cliffs. All the lakes have plenty of blue water due to the ample rainfall in autumn and are at a low level of green color water in spring and winter. While in the early summer, the water dries up and turns into grassland as lots of grasses grow in the riverbeds.
Jianzhu Lake, Arrow Bamboo Lake, is located in Jiuzhaigou scenic area, Jiuzhaigou county, with an altitude of more than 2,600 meters. It is a lake with a depth of about six meters. Open and long lake, bamboo lush, towering into the sky, the confrontation of mountains in the lake, bamboo flickering, full of life. There are unique landscapes and some calcified dead wood in the lake, sometimes the dead wood half above the water, there will be new seedlings root above, this phenomenon is called rotten wood renewal, or dead wood spring. Jianzhu Lake waterfall is 2618 meters above sea level. The waterfall is 7 meters high and 150 meters wide. The water from jianzhuhai flows into the forest. Jianzhuhai waterfall has a large span and a small drop, which is called arc waterfall. Here, the blue sea, white waterfall, flying catkins constitute a dynamic static, static dynamic, combined with blue and white.
