Wuqiang Spring Festival Pictures Museum, located in Wuqiang County, symbolizes the hometown of spring festival pictures art, and it is the art hall to showcase and study farming culture.It is a a patriotism education base and the advanced guard to protect, inherit and popularize folk art.

The engraving skills for plate making mainly depends on relief carving, supplemented by intaglio carving.The woodcut are printed with several colors like black, red, green, yellow, pink and purple.It gained popularity among people due to its unique style, wide subject matter and rich folklore art forms.Over the past 500 years, it is widely spread in China’s rural area.In December, 1993, it is named“the Home of Wooden Spring Festival Pictures in China”by the former Ministry of Culture.

The museum now covers a total area of 25,100 square meters with 5400 square meters construction area and there are 10,000 cultural relics.The 5 exhibition halls and antique spring festival pictures workshop  contribute to the protection and inheritance of the ancient technique of block painting, one of the“Four Great Inventions”.

The exhibition is divided into six parts, namely the origin of the paintings, historical achievements, modern pictures with revolutionary features, new styles of the paintings, pictures from all over the nation, traditional art workshop.The exhibition is innovative with special flavors, knowledge, art, fun and attract people to take part in it.

The spring festival pictures technique demonstration hall combines technique display, learning, interaction, and live experience, through which the tourists can gain better knowledge of the traditional art and DIY.
